DIRECTIONS TO MURPY LOG CABIN If your flying in to Atlanta: Take I-85 North out of the airport. This road becomes I-75 automatically. Follow directions below. You are approx. 1-1/2 hours from Log Cabin.
Driving from Florida: I-75 all the way to Atlanta. We take I-75 north straight through the city of Atlanta and not the bypass I-285 around. When you see the Fulton County Stadium on your right, check your odometer, at about 4 miles from the stadium, take the I-75 North to Marietta/Chattanooga cutoff which bears to the right. The traffic is so many lanes in that vicinity that we have learned to keep our eyes open. Get over to one of the right 3 lanes. Stay on I-75 to exit 268 which is I-575 North to Woodstock/Canton I-575 which is also State Route 5, North to Blue Ridge. Keep going and pass the McDonald’s intersection in the town of Blue Ridge. The route then becomes 76 East. Continue past the Ingles Shopping Plaza on the left, over the Toccoa River to the top of the hill. Get in the left lane and turn left onto Route 60 to Mineral Bluff (2 miles). Turn right on Spur 60 also called Murphy Highway. (From here on roads have more hills and are winding- drive slower). Proceed approx 6 miles and make a left on Hardscrabble Road (note this intersection has a very small postoffice and a storage rental unit). Make a right onto New Liberty to fork in road. Bear left on Watson Gap. Sharp right on Winding Creek Road ( this is almost a U turn to the right) Go to the end. Take a right on Waldos Lane (unpaved) first driveway on right 122 Waldos Lane. Stop before driveway, get out and remove steel wire across driveway and put aside until your depature. Drive up driveway, stop and unlock gate. Proceed up driveway and you are there! Enjoy!!
Directions from Cabin to Murphy Take Winding Creek to Johnsonville. Bear right on Johnsonville. Take Johnsonville to Marrestop. Turn right on Marrestop. Marrestop will take you to Highway 64. Turn right to go to Murphy (approx. 25 miles). Wal-Mart, Ingles (grocery store) and Lowes are in Murphy.
Directions from Cabin to Tennessee Take Winding Creek to Johnsonville. Bear right on Johnsonville. Take Johnsonville to Marrestop. Turn right on Marrestop. Marrestop will take you to Highway 64. Turn left to go to Tenn. Approx. 6 miles to Tenn. Line once you hit Highway 64.
